Following the decision to discontinue with the servicing of civilian aircraft by ASL in Lemwerder, Germany Juergen Hampe and Joerg Maron previously employed by ASL searched for an appropriate location for the continuation of the maintenance of civilian aircraft.

After an intensive search Ahlhorn appeared to be the best solution with a comprehensive range of facilities for a long term development.

On 30.09.2005 the company "Aircraft Maintenance Services GmbH & Co. KG" was founded.
